Guidelines for education for children with Down’s syndrome

You may be interested to know that the UK All Party Parliamentary Group on Down Syndrome has published a report presenting good practice guidelines for education for children and young people with Down’s syndrome.

It lays out a case for there being a separate category of SEN for this group of learners, recognising the distinctive learning profile that requires specific provision.

It also has a section entitled “Principles of effective educational practice for this population” which outlines principles of good practice that apply across various settings.
