Steph and Martin Horne, ELDSSG’s answer to Ranulph Fiennes and Fanny Bullock Workman recently took on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge.
The 24 mile challenge takes in the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, and completing it in under 12 hours is considered a great result. These peaks form part of the Pennine range, and encircle the head of the valley of the River Ribble, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park
Our intrepid walkers managed to complete the challenge in 11h 40m an amazing feat considering that the weather and particularly the winds were attrocious.
Their amazing effort has raised about £250 for ELDSSG and an equal amount for another great charity called Stop Hunger.
Congratulations and many thanks to Steph ad Martin and we hope your achy legs have now recovered.
